Due to continued freezing temperatures and road conditions the City of Brownwood will be adapting its hours of operation. The following adjustments are announced for Tuesday, January 27th.
- Emergency services will continue to operate as normal including Fire, Police, and Dispatch.
- All non-emergency facilities, including City Hall, will be closed Tuesday, January 27th.
- The regularly called City Council Meeting at 9:00 am will be cancelled. Items will be moved to the next regularly City Council meeting on Feb 10, 2026.
- The Senior Citizens Center will be closed and not serve congregant meals. Homebound residents in need have been contacted, and arrangements are being made.
- The Brownwood Regional Landfill will have limited access to large commercial clients by scheduled appointment, after 10 am. Brownwood Recycling Center will remain closed.
- Sanitation will not collect routes on Tuesday, January 27th, trash collections will resume, pending conditions, on Wednesday, January 28th.
