Non-Emergency City Closure: Tuesday, January 27, 2026

All non-emergency facilities, including City Hall, will be closed on Tuesday, January 27th. Emergency services will continue to operate as normal including Fire, Police, and Dispatch.

Due to continued freezing temperatures and road conditions the City of Brownwood will be adapting its hours of operation. The following adjustments are announced for Tuesday, January 27th.

  • Emergency services will continue to operate as normal including Fire, Police, and Dispatch.
  • All non-emergency facilities, including City Hall, will be closed Tuesday, January 27th.  
  • The regularly called City Council Meeting at 9:00 am will be cancelled. Items will be moved to the next regularly City Council meeting on Feb 10, 2026. 
  • The Senior Citizens Center will be closed and not serve congregant meals. Homebound residents in need have been contacted, and arrangements are being made.  
  • The Brownwood Regional Landfill will have limited access to large commercial clients by scheduled appointment, after 10 am. Brownwood Recycling Center will remain closed. 
  • Sanitation will not collect routes on Tuesday, January 27th, trash collections will resume, pending conditions, on Wednesday, January 28th.
